Picture one: This picture was taken by Niall O Cleirigh at Murdudeshwara Karnataka on the west coast of India showing the Statue of Lord Shiva: A huge towering statue of Lord Shiva, visible from great distances, is present in the temple complex. It is the tallest statue of Shiva in the world. The statue is 123 feet (37 m) in height, and took about 2 years to build. The statue was built by Shivamogga's Kashinath and several other sculptors, financed by businessman and philanthropist Mr R.N. Shetty, at a cost of approximately 50 million Rs. The idol is designed such that it gets the sunlight directly and thus appears sparkling. Picture two: Yoga mats and blocks in a basket lit by the afternoon sun in the yoga studio at Flying Monkey Yoga. Picture three: On Candolim beach a frothing wave recedes revealing the perfectly smooth sand below. Picture four: A traditional fishing boat named “St Anthony” is moored beside the new Bagga bridge, the tide is full in and the bridge and boat are reflected strongly in the water. Picture five: Palm trees at Mackey’s night market lit by the lights of the traders.

Karma Yoga

It is often difficult to see the connection we as individuals have with this world and the other people who live in it as we go about our daily lives. We are all connected; every action, word or thought has en effect on those around us. Each of our actions has a positive or negative consequence, and sets in motion a global ripple effect impacting on others near and far. We all have the power to do good and greatly compassionate things, no matter how small these actions may seem at the time. Not everybody is able to give up their lives for a chance to make positive change, but that does not mean that there is nothing that can be done.
